The beach at Gerakas is one of the main nesting spots for the Caretta Caretta Turtles in Zante and volunteers work alongside Earth, Sea & Sky to ensure that the public are educated and informed to leave minimal impact on the turtles nesting environment.

Volunteers enjoy staying in the beautiful surrounds of Gerakas – with plenty of time for enjoying the beach, taking country strolls and meandering down to the neighbouring villages of St. Nicholas and Vasilikos. There is plenty to do in your time off while still maintaining a truly traditional and untouched Greek island feel.

With regular direct charter flights to the island over the summer it is easy for volunteers to fly in directly from a number of countries across Europe.
